Within the first SCERTS Conference in Poland entitled The SCERTS Model – Day 1 & 2:
Introduction & Program Planning (Enhancing active engagement in autistic and neurodivergent learners) the U.S.-originated SCERTS Model will be presented. This model is a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to working with children on the autism spectrum (ASD) with diverse social-emotional learning profiles. The SCERTS Model was created in 2006 by Barry Prizant Ph. D., Amy Wetherby Ph. D., Amy Laurent, and Emily Rubin.
The SCERTS Model is a highly multidimensional evidence-based model. It is characterized by a holistic approach to therapy and education for preschool and early school-aged children on the autism spectrum (ASD).
The SCERTS Model uses non-directive methods, and the learning process is conducted through facilitation techniques. The model emphasizes the importance of using relationship in therapeutic work as well.
The entire conference (2 days) will be led by former Yale University lecturer and co-author of the SCERTS Model: MS CCC SLP Emily Rubin.
During the conference, there will also be an opportunity to purchase the first Polish-language publication on the SCERTS Model: “Autism Therapy Without Punishments and Rewards? The Effectiveness of the SCERTS Model in Comprehensive Therapy and Education of Children with ASD”.
The conference (2 days) will be held in Warsaw at www.hotelwitkowski.pl ON OCTOBER 21 – 22; 2026 y.
